The Balanced Man Scholarship (BMS) is based on Sigma Phi Epsilon’s revolutionary development process, the Balanced Man Program. At its heart, the program focuses on the principles of Sound Mind, Sound Body, where academics and physical health work hand‐in‐hand to enhance an individuals development. We are a fraternity who prides itself on a strict no hazing policy and no pledge quarter, but rather a more lengthy focus on personal development.
Nationally, Sigma Phi Epsilon awards over $115,000 per year with its Balanced Man Scholarships. Our chapter at the University of Cincinnati awarded $3500 of scholarship money in the fall of 2010, a contribution we look to continue. Typically, our chapter awards five to ten scholarships totaling $3500. I would like to invite you to apply for this award. Because this award is not purely based on one metric, we strongly encourage all young men who are entering our University to apply.
The Balanced Man Scholarship awards incoming freshmen who exhibit academic excellence, demonstrate leadership skills, and commit to health and well‐being. Our fraternity is built on an emphasis of being well‐rounded, and many of our recent recipients have shown significant potential for a future of success in diverse ways. Reception of our scholarship award is not contingent upon becoming a member of our fraternity. To ensure that this is the case, the scholarship recipients are selected in the summer, before the Greek recruitment period begins.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have with regard to this scholarship or for additional information on the fraternity. This scholarship offer is an excellent opportunity for those who apply.
Please submit applications no later than July 1, 2012.
Enjoy your last few months of high school and have a great summer. I hope to hear from you soon.
